Reddit public posts and threaded replies retain community and conversational context, which suits product discussion and recurring-question research. Source conditions can differ, so a sample should identify community scope, fields, and permitted use together.
Why does thread structure matter?
A single comment often lacks context. If the question concerns how users respond to a product or viewpoint, confirm which of posts, replies, community names, dates, and visible scores are needed and preserve their relationship.
Can several communities be treated as one audience?
Not by default. Select relevant communities and topics first and retain community provenance in results; rules, participants, and discussion norms may differ, and a sample represents only the agreed scope.
