Assess the fit for your project

Zhihu questions, answers, articles, and topic discussion suit research into recurring questions and viewpoints expressed in public answers. It is strongest for question-led qualitative work; a highly engaged answer is not automatically an expert conclusion.

How should Zhihu questions and answers be selected?

Start with core questions, topics, and dates, and specify whether articles, answers, comments, or engagement figures are needed. A sample can test whether wording captures real user questions and helps exclude duplicates or off-topic discussion.

Is it suitable as an expert-opinion database?

It can be research material for public viewpoints and questions, but sources, evidence, and applicability should be reviewed in the content itself. The dataset does not make additional guarantees about an answerer’s identity, qualifications, or correctness.

Sources and usage

Public questions, answers, articles, and topic data only.

If you plan to train a model, use the data in a customer-facing product or share it with third parties, mention this when requesting a quote so we can check source permissions and restrictions.

Public access does not establish permission for collection, training or redistribution. Naming a platform does not imply affiliation, agency or endorsement.
